Towny Minecraft Servers are a gamemode where players come together as a community and play on a Minecraft server together. Towny servers typically have no plugins or very little to make the gameplay experience as close to vanilla Minecraft as possible.

What are the steps to join a Towny server from this list?
To join, scroll through the list of Towny servers above and pick one that seems like it will be fun, maybe a server with an emerald based economy, or a server that has a lot of active towns. Once youâve found one, click the Copy IP button. Then open Minecraft, go to Multiplayer, click Add Server, and paste the IP in-game to connect. If you have troubles joining, double check that you are on a version the server supports, as this will be listed on the serverâs page. After joining, you will usually spawn at a central area where you can teleport to the wilderness and use commands like /town list to find a town to join if you arenât interested in starting your own.
What is a Towny server and how does it work?
When you join a Towny Minecraft server you are playing in a survival world built around the Towny plugin, where players live in protected towns instead of random bases in the wild which can get griefed. You can join an existing town as a player or also create your own and automatically become the mayor, claim land in chunks, and set building rules for certain members and roles. Towns can also group up into nations for extra in-game bonuses typically. Most of the servers with Towny have an economy which lets you deposit money into your town bank, and buy more land with this. PvP and griefing are usually disabled, but some servers allow wars during set times.
How do I know Iâve found the best server for me?
When youâre looking for a good Towny server on our list, you should start by checking how the server handles PvP, griefing, and wars. Some servers are very peaceful and focus strictly on building and community, while others may be a little more competitive or PvP focused with nation wars, PvP zones, etc. It also helps to look at how active and how old the server is, how large the towns are, and whether the server ever resets the map. Try a couple IPs from the list, join a town or start your own, and then stay on the server where the rules and community feel best for how you like to play.
